Days Darjeeling - Gantok(Flavour of the Hills)
Day
01: Bagdogra/ New Jalpaiguri – Darjeeling (120 Kms/ 3.5 Hrs)
Meeting
assistance on arrival at Bagdogra airport or New Jalpaiguri railway
station and transfer to Darjeeling, the “Queen of the hill stations”,
its name derived from “Dorje-Line” which means the place of “Dorje”,
the mystic thunderbolt. Driving along winding roads, its an experience
of unforgettable beauty. On arrival check-in at Hotel.
Day
02: Darjeeling
Start
the day early in the morning with an early morning trip to Tiger
Hill to catch the sunrise from behind the majestic Kunchenjunga
range. On the way back visit the Ghoom Monastery & Batasia Loop.
Back to the hotel for breakfast . Spend the rest of the day recouping
the lost sleep. Walk to the mall, do some shopping or lazy around
at “Chowrasta” - the meeting point.
Day
03: Darjeeling
After
breakfast proceed for a half day sightseeing of the Himalayan Mountaineering
Institute, Zoo, Tenzing Rock, Labong Race Course,, Tea Garden, Tibetan
Refugees Self Help Centre & Rope-way. After lunch take a walk
to “Chowrasta” the centre point of the Mall area. Do some window shopping.
Day
04: Darjeeling Gantok (98 Kms/ 3.5 Hrs)
After
breakfast drive to Land of the Pristine and unspoilt natural beauty
– Sikkim , with alpine landscapes and thick luxuriant forests, rivers
in torrent and peaceful lakes. On arrival check-in Hotel Relax through
the rest of the day.
Day
05: Gantok
After
breakfast proceed for Tsomgo (changu) lake at an altitute of 12,000
ft (a full day trip) This lake is located very close to Nathula
Pass which is the entry point to China termed as the “Silk Route”.
It remains frozen for most parts of the year. Enjoy the surroundings,
majestic peaks, clean fresh air. Evening free for leisure or go
shopping for Sikkimese traditional handicrafts.
Day
06: Gantok – Bagdogra / New Jalpaiguri
Morning on time transfer to Bagdogra airport or New Jalpaiguri railway
station to return back home with sweet memories.
